Recalled and expired infant ibuprofen should be discarded
Today’s recall news is actually related to a recall issued almost one year ago. Back in January of 2019, Tris Pharma issued a voluntary recall of their liquid Ibuprofen Oral Suspension Drops. The drops, distributed to both CVS and Walmart stores nationwide, were found to have “higher levels of ibuprofen concentration”.

In addition to being recalled, the products have now reached their expiration date. So if you’ve been holding onto them, in spite of the recall, it’s time to throw them out. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration wants to remind consumers they should not use expired drugs because “Once the expiration date has passed there is no guarantee that the medicine will be safe and effective…”
