French Beans and Red Lentil sold in select Whole Foods and Lidl stores recalled due to Listeria

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for select varieties of green beans and red lentils. Both recalls are due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. So far, no illnesses have been reported related to this recall.

The French green beans recalled are “Hippie Organics” French Beans, sold by Alpine Fresh, and distributed in Aldi, LIDL, and Whole Foods. The Aldi stores carrying the beans were located only in Florida. The LIDL stores carrying the beans were located in DE, GA, NC, NJ, NY, PA, SC, and VA. The Whole Foods stores carrying the beans were located in CT, FL, GA, IL, and MD. Hippie Organics French Beans were packaged in clear containers with lot #313-626 stamped on a small white label located on the bag of the bag.

The possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes has also led the FDA to issue a recall of Red Lentil Dal sold at Whole Foods stores in 49 of 50 states. Sold in 12 oz. plastic trays, the Red Lentil Dal has 8 different Use By dates. Those dates are: 4/15/2022, 4/17/2022, 4/18/2022, 4/19/2022, 4/22/2022, 4/24/2022, 4/25/2022, and 4/26/2022. The UPC you’ll want to look for is 1 95515 02394 8.
